Anika Rose is an American performer and actress. Her most well-known character is Tiana the first Disney African American Princess. She was recognized as a Disney Legend. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robertson, the character in Dreamgirls and was awarded the Academy Award. Anika Rose was born June 6, 1971. She is a famous American singer and actress. She is best known for the role of Tiana In The Princess and the Frog as the first African American Disney princess. Disney Legends named her as one of them in 2011. The actress is also famous for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) and also for playing LaVerne Jukebox Ganner as part of The Starz series Power. Her other notable roles include in theatre, specifically for the starring roles of Emmie Thibodeaux and Emmie Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004), for which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured Performer Award was given to her and Beneatha Youther from the Broadway Remake of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Female Featured Performance in a Musical was nominated for her.
