A person who is an adult can be described as a person or animal who is at full growth.The biological meaning of the term is animals that have reached sexual maturity, and therefore capable of reproduction. In the context of humans an adult's term has significance that is shaped by moral and social concepts. In contrast to a person who is who is not considered to be an adult or "minor", the legal adult is a person who has reached the age of majority making them self-sufficient as well as responsible and competent. The term "major" may be applied to them. The general consensus is that the minimum age that a person becomes a legal adult is 18. However, this can vary depending on legal rights and countries as well as the development of the individual's psychological.

Adulthood refers to the time in the lifespan of a human being during the time when both intellectual and physical maturity has occurred. The age of adulthood typically begins with an age that is 21. The age of old is 60 years after middle years. As we grow older, there are three distinct phases early adulthood (18-30 years) and Middle Adulthood (30-60 year olds) and finally, late adulthood (60%-60 percent). In the early years of adulthood, our body has reached its physical maturity to the maximum. But, the height and our weight can increase. In young adulthood the physical capabilities of our bodies are at their best such as the strength of our muscles, our reaction speed as well as sensory capabilities, the functioning of our heart.
